Indigenous Tourism Champions Program

Susan Lee mentors three indigenous businesses in NSW, QLD and NT under the ITCP program, a joint project of Tourism Australia and Indigenous Business Australia.

We regularly travel interstate to work with indigenous business owners in different phases of their business growth; some are start-up, some are established and need help refining export strategies. Some are developing new products. Susan helps with operations, marketing and pricing, packaging, understanding the industry supply chain and product development.

Clients are:

  • Maruku Arts at Yulara  (nr Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park, NT). Owned by traditional owners and artists across the APY lands, Maruku provides Anangu artists with income from sales of punu (woodwork) and dot paintings. Now they export dot-painting workshops to conference groups and attending ATE for the second time in 2014.
